Welcome! This web page supplements my Learn Littleroot Town on Mandolin video on YouTube by providing all the files, links, and other references from my that video. I posted an early version of this chord melody to Patreon a few months back. This is probably the chord melody that I've arranged that has made the largest number of people happy. Please note that the transcription of exactly what I played in the performance portion of the YouTube video is only available on Patreon, but everything else is below.

To my knowledge, this tune was originally written by Go Ichinose (一之瀬剛) and come from the region of Hoenn. Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald debuted around 2002 and I discovered them in college. While Junichi Masuda wrote a few of the tunes, and most of the soundtrack from the previous game, Ichinose wrote a majority of the town themes in this game. While I think of this chord melody in F major, there's heaps of accidentals and weird stuff so don't get too attached to that particular key.
Here are some versions of this tune from around the internet that I love. Perhaps you'll find some magic in these versions as well. Note that everyone has their own little way of playing it. This is especially so with the ending portion because there's no real ending to this tune. I believe it's written on purpose to loop forever if your character is just sitting their in the Littleroot Town on your GBA doin' nothing while you're aura farming.
